The sky is falling. Unemployment. Assassinations. West Nile. Tsunami. Katrina. The Great Recession. We are in the middle of a Great Storm. Entire industries, cities, and even nations are swept up in its wake. This storm is so violent, so inclusive that we have not even dared to name her.

The Mystics and the Maya saw her coming. She was called the Kali Yuga, the final Baktun, the End Times, the end of a 25,000-year cycle. She sweeps clean everything. Laying waste to all in her path.

When you’re inside a storm what do you see? Wind, hail, lightning, and tidal waves. Imagine that you could hitchhike into space, and stowaway on the International Space Station. From the vantage point outside the atmosphere—outside the storm—you see a vaster beauty, you see a blue marble with wispy cloud patterns, vast oceans, and glowing Aurora Borealis. (1)

In the background, you see and feel the magnificent sun radiating energy to this part of the cosmos. Our sun, a glowing electric ball (2), orchestrates a celestial harmony that resonates in your mind. (3)

You see our heavenly companion, the Moon. Her powerful tug on the oceans makes all life possible, for without the tidal forces, all our seas would be stagnant lifeless ponds. As the Moon cycles through her faces, you feel her companionship as she massages the earth with her gravitational energy.

Beyond the moon, a vast tapestry of stars glimmer. You feel the magnificence of the 25,000 year cycle that is now completing. The cycles of change require that the old be swept away before the new can be planted. Any farmer will tell you that you must till a field before you plant seeds. The seeds of our future are being planted today, and while it feels scary and out of control from the inside, a shift in your perspective will reveal that all is in order, an unfolding (4) is taking place.

Our galaxy will soon celebrate a new day.

1. Edgar Mitchell, was so moved by his samadhi experience in space on Apollo 14 that he came back from his mission and founded the Institute of Noetic Sciences, an organization devoted to understanding consciousness and our place in the cosmos. If you have a MacBook or an iMac, turn on the screensaver to “Cosmos” for an experiential backdrop to this essay.

2. Dr. José Argüelles, Mayan scholar, decoded the language of the Maya and postulated how Galactic cycles establish and empower our civilization. His book, The Mayan Factor, illustrates the grander scheme of the Cosmos. Physicists are now hypothesizing that the Sun is not a thermonuclear device, but actually an electric ball, powered by plasma from an Electric Universe whose tendrils form a vast Galactic Network of energy.

3. Johannes Kepler heard the “Music of the Spheres”, this harmonic pattern of our cosmos, Kepler predicted the placement and orbits of the unknown planets.

4. Mathematicians previously believed that there were only three transformations in this universe: movement, rotation, and reflection. They have since discovered a fourth transformation, inversion. In this video, you can see an object propel itself by turning itself inside out, in essence inverting inside and outside.
